The town of San Francisco el Alto is located near Quetzaltenango, the second biggest city in Guatemala. Her name is well deserved, as it is perched at almost 3000 meters. There, every Friday mornings takes place the largest market of all Guatemala. On the main square at the top of the city, hundreds of farmers from all over the country gather and sell their goats, sheep, turkeys, chickens, pigs and cows. I stayed there half a day, witnessing one of the most authentic thing I ever saw. There were no tourist there, at the beginning people were not very happy to see me taking pictures, but as I stayed and talked to them, they started to accept me, and even pose for me at the end.

Shot in 2014.
